About Us
We are a Latin American academic network, comprised of citizens with higher education, from fields related to the social sciences, where students and professionals come together interested in observing and understanding international policy phenomena, thereby fostering intellectual competencies for academic production, with the purpose of educating and contributing to the solution of international issues in the 21st century.
History
In its early moments, the academic society began as a personal idea or project. Individuals with common interests in the academic, scientific, or educational fields decided to create a space to share and promote knowledge, undertaking activities such as conferences, research, or the publication of articles. This initial phase was characterized by a lack of legal formalization, likely operating on a small scale and without the need for a complex legal structure. At this stage, the focus was on academic content and the creation of a learning community or exchange of ideas.
As the project grew, it began to consolidate as a collective. This meant that more people joined the project, sharing responsibilities and expanding its scope. In this phase, alliances were sought with other organizations or academic institutions, broadening the network of collaborators, participants, and activities. The collective allowed for diversification of work, improvement in project quality, and increased visibility. However, although the organization was more formal than at its inception, it remained a relatively flexible structure, without the legal formalization of a company or entity.
With the growth of the collective, the need to institutionalize the project more formally arose. The decision was made to register it as a brand, which allowed for the protection of its identity and provided it with legal recognition. Registering the brand meant that the project's name, logo, and other distinctive elements would be legally protected, giving them exclusive rights to their use within their field. Furthermore, the brand, as such, began to be seen not just as an academic project but as an entity, which could facilitate the search for sponsors, collaborations, or even generate revenue through products or services related to education and research.
Finally, the project was established as a Simplified Stock Company (SAS) with variable capital, which represented an important transformation. The SAS is a relatively flexible type of legal entity that allows for the creation of companies with fewer restrictions and offers greater ease in modifying the share capital according to our objectives. This will allow for a legally solid and formalized structure, enabling more efficient resource management, contract execution, commercial operations, and access to financing if needed. Furthermore, being of variable capital, its capital can be increased or reduced according to investment and expansion needs.
